Ensley_3This summer was a spiky, aching one. We hurt all around the world and all around our skin and all around ours and each other’s and our exes and our lovers bodies. We fought not to drown and we stayed above the surface, just barely. We drank cold coffee and wrote love letters we tore with our teeth and shoved in bathtubs. Or maybe we were happy. Or maybe we were blissful in our alive-ness. Or maybe things were easy, as easy as they ever are, as easy as  they come.
