Perugia Press Prize: “Perugia Press’s annual prize opens on August 1. Open to all who identify as women & who have not published more than one full-length book of poetry.” $1,000 prize. “Perugia Press asks poets to choose the submission rate that works for them: $30 (w/free book), $15 (reduced rate), or fee-free for poets who are Black, Indigenous, and women of color (BIWOC).” Submissions open August 1-November 15.

River Glass Books Chapbook Contest: “River Glass Books is organized to foster and support a culture of sustainability in the arts, contribute to the protection and preservation of the world’s most crucial ecosystems, and advocate for the rights of the people whose lives and land are endangered by environmental threats—all while publishing compelling contemporary literature in fine limited edition chapbooks.” Submissions open July 15-September 15. No fee. 

Sundress Publications: Open for full-length poetry manuscripts. “Submission fees waived for BIPOC writers and anyone who purchases one of our titles.” Deadline: August 31. 

TYRIAN INK Chapbook Contest: “an independent LGBT+ press dedicated to uplifting youth voices … TYRIAN INK is currently open to chapbook manuscripts of any genre (poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, hybrid, etc) with a minimum of 30 pages and a maximum of 50 pages in length. Due to TYRIAN INK‘s niche focus, please only submit if you are a member of the LGBTQ+ community and are 22 or below.” No fee.
