Game Over Books — “Founded in 2017, Game Over Books is a small Boston-based press run by nerdy artists. Our mission? Print books from diverse voices that push creative writing forward into the Next Level. From acceptance to publication, we give continual guidance to writers as they continue to gain experience points, grow their craft, and navigate the world of publishing.” Submissions open for poetry and prose manuscripts. No fee. February 28 Deadline. 

Ghost City Press Summer Microchap Series — “Ghost City Press was established in 2013 in Syracuse, NY. Our goal is to provide a platform for the exhibition and distribution of work by new, emerging, and established writers and artists in the online literary community … As always, all of our micro-chaps are available for free download, but we highly encourage you to donate to our authors who get to keep 100% of the proceeds donated to their title(s) … As always, we welcome collections of poetry, prose, or other multimedia work.” No fee. March 1 deadline.

The Shade Journal“Shade Literary Arts is literary organization for queer writers of color. Publisher of The Shade Journal, started in July 2016, Shade Literary Arts, believes there is something divine about being a queer person of color in a world designed to destroy these bodies. Shade seeks work that challenges forms and upsets the canon, while understanding literature’s rigorous and traditional roots.” Open for Poetry and Visual Arts Submissions. No fee. March 8 Deadline. 

Underblong — “Underblong is a journal of the not-quite-so, of unfinished thoughts, of unresolved anger, of unforgotten macaroni art. Underblong is the coatroom of your secret’s secrets, a boiling pot of kit-kats becoming your favorite soup. Send us a poem that cuts through the crap. Send us your dinner chicken.
