held in common by Serah Wolfe

To hoard –
silent stare,
light flickering
mouth agape
and empty
swallows withheld
withering vine
imperfect harvest.
Even
worm riddled
the apple sweetens
and buzzes.
Even
unlapped,
the juice ripens.
A symphony
unstruck.

Serah Wolfe is a poet, painter, and writer dwelling in the American Midwest.
